The story goes on

I am getting to do one of my very favorite things this week, serving as the Camp Pastor at the Caraway RA Boys Camp in Asheboro.
For a week I get to teach Bible lessons and hang out with these guys from across North Carolina who range in age from about 10 to 17. I have had the privilege of doing this enough times now to get notice some trends and changes. Much is changing in the world this guys live in and even now I am sitting here with a wireless connection in the midst of a camp in the woods, such is life. But one huge aspect seems to not change at all. That is that God is actively working in the lives of these young men, some quite noticeably. Of course there are some who can grate your last nerve, but there are many who will follow in the footsteps of those who once walked the trail to the chapel and came away called to full time mission service, those who now fill church pulpits, those who are leading business and career men who made an agreement with God here to always include Him in all they do, and they are doing it. Some like the church deacon I ran into this past spring who remembered every part of the Bible Study I taught here when he was a junior in high school. Lives still get an opportunity for eternal turning points at such camps and places where people, even hyper energy young boys will listen long enough to hear the God who still speaks and still calls their name. The "peopleness" of God's wondrous work never ceases to amaze me.
